CORY HAAS - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AND PRODUCER
Cory is an actor, director and a little bit of everything else in between. He holds an MFA from the Central School of Speech and Drama and a BPA from Capilano University. He has directed all of Stages Theatre Co. productions including: Little One, PEAU, Awkward Conversations with Animals I've F*cked, 21 Chump Street, and Seminar, Stages' inaugural production. He co-directed Stages' BALLS with Gilles Poulain-Denis of 2par4. Further assistant directing credits include: Sea of Stories (Peninsula Productions/Associate), In the Republic of Happiness/Fewer emergencies (Rose Bruford/Assistant), A Christmas Story: The Musical (Arts Club/Associate)My Fair Lady (RCMT/Associate); One Man, Two Guvnors (Arts Club/Associate); À toi, pour toujours, ta Marie-Lou (Seizième/Associate); Legally Blonde (TUTS/Associate). Cory co-created and performed in Naked Love, at the Vancouver Fringe Festival along with Tiffany Anderson. He has conceived pieces for FUSE and the PuSh Festival. Acting credits include: Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps (Peninsula Productions); Simon in Statu Quo (La Seizième), a role that he originated; Lord Farquaad in Shrek The Musical (Align Entertainment); Cary in a staged reading of Proud by Michael Healey (CapU/School Of Communication); J.H Rogers in Titanic: A New Musical, Jenkins in How to $ (TUTS); Man in 7 Stories, Frederick Fellows in Noises Off, Reverend Hale in The Crucible (Exit 22), and many more!
Cory also produces, facilitates workshops, and in voice over, most notably dubbing one of the characters in French in the Feature Film Killing Gunther.
